Born in London in 1991, Josie Appleby was educated at Watford Grammar School for Girls and later attended 'Instituto Marangoni' - one of the most credible fashion schools in Europe. She was offered an internship at British Luxury Fashion House, Alexander McQueen, after just her first year of a graduate degree. Josie then went onto study Equine Sports Science, as growing up she had found solace in the care and company of horses. Animals and abstract painting became the chosen subject matter for her paintings. They have been greatly received by the equestrian community and collectors, exhibiting all over the country at the worlds most prestigious equine events, such as Longines Global Champions Tour, Bolesworth International, Badminton Horse Trials to name a few. Represented by renowned Art Gallery and Publisher Collier & Dobson her paintings have developed and changed as she has grown as an artist. Josie's deep understanding and knowledge of various subjects and her profound passion and flair for art and design is clear to see in her wonderfully atmospheric paintings. Her paintings are layered with beautiful sentimentality, and capture her adoration for energy and life with a contrast of vulnerability and strength.
